Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
Are you looking for extra support to keep living independently at home? Whether you need help with day-to-day housework, getting to appointments, or keeping active in your community, the Commonwealth Home Support Program could provide the assistance you need.
What is CHSP?
The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is funded by the Australian Government. It provides a range of entry-level aged care services for older people who need some extra support to keep living independently at home and in their community.
If you are generally able to manage but just need some help with daily tasks to continue living at home, CHSP services may be right for you.
CHSP supports people who have:
- Low-level needs on an ongoing basis
- Short-term needs after injury or illness
- Require interim support while waiting for a Home Care Package (HCP)
- Are at risk of homelessness.
What does CHSP include?
CHSP provides a range of services to help you manage your day-to-day activities. Services can include:
- Housekeeping
- Personal care
- Transport
- Allied Health and Therapy
- Home Maintenance
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible for the CHSP if you are aged 65 years or older (or 50 years or over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, or 45 years or over for those at risk of becoming homeless) and need a small amount of help in the home.
To check your eligibility, visit My Aged Care.
How can we help?
