New leaders share passion to make a difference

With years of experience between them and a shared passion for making a difference, three new leaders have joined Multicap’s Central Queensland Team.

Kathy Andersen, Tennille Weigand and Amanda Williams have all been appointed as service managers for the region.

Regional Manager Mark Smalley said the new leadership team had hit the ground running, getting to know their teams, customers and families.

“We are fortunate to have three exceptional service leaders who collectively bring their unique experience and knowledge to the region and wider organisation,” Mark said.

Mark said the service leader was a key role for the region.

“It is a very important role as they engage with care staff, customers and their families as well as senior management. They link the frontline actions and feedback with the organisation,” he said.

Kathy has worked for Multicap since 2017 in various roles from support coordinator, team leader, key worker and disability support worker.

In her new role, Kathy manages three supported independent living homes.

“I love the hands-on interaction and the opportunity to make a difference for customers, their families and disability support workers alike,” she said.

Tennille joined Multicap in March and is ‘absolutely loving’ the role and the opportunity to interact with customers again and support her teams.

“My previous role was very strategic with minimal customer interaction. I am a people person, I love hearing and sharing stories and love to support customers on their journey, so I am loving the customer interaction and the chance to upskill staff,” she said. “I am big on internal growth as that is how I started out.”

Amanda loves being back on the frontline, building the new relationships with customers and watching them achieve their goals, in particular moving into independent living, and being a positive light.

“In my time the Rockhampton short-term accommodation has already offered a couple of our customers their transition to a permanent supported independent living arrangement,” she said.

“We are part of our customers’ journey and we’re here to make a difference in their lives.”
