Where possible and appropriate, Multicap is providing support to customers to prepare and receive their COVID-19 vaccination, and continues to work with customers, their support networks and health practitioners throughout the rollout. Multicap Customers
As per government directions, you must have your COVID-19 booster shot in order to be ‘up-to-date’ with your vaccinations. All staff are strongly encouraged to get their booster shot as soon as possible. If you have recently had COVID-19, you can get your booster shot as soon as you are recovered. For more information visit the Queensland Health website.
If you have not yet received your first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination, we encourage you to speak to your doctor about getting vaccinated to give yourself the best protection from severe illness from COVID-19.
Let Multicap know about your vaccination status
To ensure we have the most up-to-date information about our customers’ vaccination status, please send a copy of the COVID-19 Digital Certificate to [email protected] for each dose received. You can find out how to access this record via the Services Australia website.
If you have not yet received your first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination, we encourage you to speak to your doctor about getting vaccinated to give yourself the best protection from severe illness from COVID-19.
Multicap Staff
- In Queensland, from 15 December 2021 any staff delivering disability support services must have received both primary doses of the COVID-19 vaccination. You can read more about the Queensland Government's direction on their website. Multicap is actively encouraging all staff to receive their booster shots in order to be up-to-date with their vaccinations and to provide their vaccination records to Multicap.
- In New South Wales, a person who provides a disability service is required to have 3 doses of a COVID-19 vaccination.
Be informed
Multicap also recognises and appreciates that receiving the vaccine is completely voluntary and the decision to take part is up to each individual. It's important to be informed so you can make the decision that's right for you. It's just as important to make sure the information you're receiving is accurate and is from official and trusted sources.
Multicap recommends using the following websites as the main sources of information for research on COVID-19 and the vaccine
- Queensland Government
- Australian Government Department of Health - vaccine information for people with disability
- New South Wales Health
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) The TGA is part of the Department of Health and is responsible for regulating therapeutic goods including prescription medicines and vaccines.
