Multicap offers a range of Supported Independent Living services across Queensland, Northern NSW and Victoria. We currently have SIL housing vacancies in various areas of South East Queensland to help you enjoy increased independence and work towards your goals.
What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?
Supported independent living is a type of support offered under Australia’s National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Through your funding, you may be eligible to access SIL to help build independence and live in your own home. SIL providers offer a range of supports as part of their SIL packages. In each case, those supports are designed to provide help and supervision with daily tasks such as:
Grocery shopping and meal preparation
Travel assistance to and from appointments
Accessing the community and social experiences
Personal care and grooming
Multicap is an SIL provider that can work with you to find the supports that suit your needs and funding. In most cases, SIL funding is offered to people with high needs or to those who need some level of help around the home at all times. SIL packages are flexible enough to suit most types of living arrangements. If you live in your own home, share with others or live in disability accommodation, SIL funding can be used to access support throughout the day and overnight.
Supported independent living funding can only be used to access the supports you need around the home. It can’t be used to pay for daily expenses or rent.
