Multicap is delighted to introduce a new podcast series: Talking Possibilities. Each episode will take you behind the scenes to get to know people within the disability industry - both those living with disabilities and those working to enhance their quality of life.

Behind the mic

Over a 25-year career in journalism and communications, Rebecca has interviewed hundreds of people from all walks of life. She loves giving people the opportunity to share their story and believes everyone has a story to tell.

When she's not behind the microphone, Rebecca runs her own communication business, spends time with her twin daughters, studies and (of course) listens to podcast interviews!

The importance of self-advocacy for people with disability

In this episode we will learn how HAVEN (Have A Voice and Empower Network) is promoting self-advocacy for its participants. HAVEN helps participants discover their voice and the confidence to use it. Vicky Chen, Practice Specialist – Rights and Advocacy, will discuss the fundamentals of advocacy including learning the skills to speak up, make a complaint, or write a change proposal HAVEN member, Rory will share about his involvement with HAVEN and the outcome of his advocacy success.

Monte Lupo Art Studio was named after the pottery town Montelupo Fiorentino, where many hands help to collaboratively make brightly coloured, boldly designed pottery pieces, and that’s exactly what happens at the Monte Lupo Studio. Numerous talented artists with disability help create the ceramics the studio has become famous for.
