Simon Wardale has been appointed Group Executive, Disability, bringing nearly 30 years of experience across disability support, policy, service leadership and practice advisory. 

Simon began his career as a Disability Support Worker and has built a distinguished career spanning frontline practice, service management, and leadership across complex support systems. His work has been widely recognised and published in academic journals focused on disability and complex support needs, reflecting his deep expertise and commitment to advancing the sector. 

Over the past 15 years, Simon has made a significant impact at the intersection of legislation, policy and practice. His leadership has contributed to meaningful improvements in the delivery of disability services, including roles as Delegate of the Senior Practitioner in Victoria, Director of Practice Leadership in Behaviour Supports at the Centre of Excellence for Behaviour Support, and Director of Forensic Disability with independent statutory responsibility for the secure Forensic Disability Service and individuals with intellectual disability appearing in the Mental Health Court. 

In his role as Group Executive, Disability, Simon will continue to champion Practice Excellence and customer-centred service delivery, ensuring strong outcomes for the people we support.
