Leading disability service provider, Multicap, will deliver four new accessible homes designed specifically for people with high needs disability in Rockhampton.
Multicap is building these homes as part of the next stage of a specialist disability housing project through a $2.5 million grant received from Queensland Government’s Resources Community Infrastructure Fund.
This next stage of construction adds to the two existing dwellings on site completed by Multicap in 2024. These dwellings offer long–term, independent living opportunities for people with high-needs disability.
Multicap CEO, Simon Wright, said that Multicap’s ongoing investment highlights our strong commitment to supporting local people with disability and creating job opportunities in the region.
“We’re thrilled to turn sod for this project and deliver four new accessible homes for six people in the Rockhampton community,” Simon said.
“This new development will provide the highest standard of accommodation for six people who require significant support and offer options and reassurance for families that their loved ones will receive quality support in a safe, accessible and comfortable living environment.”
“Multicap have been providing services in Rockhampton for over twenty-five years, so we understand the local demand for this accessible housing,” he said.

The next stage of this development will deliver two one-bedroom units and two two-bedroom duplexes, along with supporting internal road and civil infrastructure.
The new homes will include staff accommodation and offer purpose-built comfortable and supportive living environments enabling residents to live comfortably with increased independence.
Multicap’s Regional Manager, Belinda Cronk, highlighted the transformative impact of the housing development on residents and their families.
“When we opened our first two homes last year, we were able to offer homes for people who had never lived independently from their family,” Belinda said.
“They are now thriving and living independently for the first time with ongoing support from Multicap.”
The works will be managed by local business BT Builders Qld, with construction due to be completed by March 2026.
Multicap is a major provider of high-quality disability services in Rockhampton, supporting people in supported independent living units and houses, short term accommodation and at its Community Hub.
