Multicap was pleased to welcome Simon Wright as the Chief Executive Officer on 24 June.
Simon brings a wealth of experience in the disability sector, having dedicated over 25 years to improving the lives of people with disabilities. With a clear focus on building high performing teams to deliver Person Centred Services, Simon is excited to take on this new challenge.
His journey began as an Occupational Therapist, and he has since held pivotal roles within the leadership teams of various esteemed organisations, completing his MBA more recently to ensure he is equipped to lead in this challenging sector. Prior to joining Multicap, Simon made significant contributions to another prominent not-for-profit disability service provider and a national private NDIS provider.
Taking the helm as Multicap’s CEO, Simon has been warmly welcomed by the team. His first few weeks have been marked by meaningful interactions with staff, customers, and stakeholders, where he has witnessed firsthand the positive impact of Multicap’s services.
“I am truly grateful for the warm reception I’ve received,” Simon shares. “It has been inspiring to see the dedication and compassion that defines Multicap’s commitment to supporting our customers.”
Simon is eager to delve deeper into Multicap’s service offerings and engage directly with the team to foster collaboration and innovation.
During his first weeks, Simon enthusiastically joined Multicap’s Centre of Creative Arts (COCA) acting group, immersing himself in activities and gaining valuable insights into the groups creative endeavours.
Simon extends his appreciation to the interim leadership team—General Managers Ellen, Fiona, Peta, and Tony—for their steadfast leadership during the transition period. He also acknowledges the dedication of all staff members, from Regional Managers to Disability Support Workers, whose efforts uphold Multicap’s purpose.
Looking ahead, Simon is focused on meeting with the organisation’s senior leaders and planning site visits in the coming months. He is committed to supporting the team and building upon Multicap’s legacy of exceptional care and service delivery.
